BEST Disability Support Director

With a plan to work in construction and 6 years of experience in that industry, Chris Stan had a pivotal moment.

“I volunteered to help a young group of guys with intellectual disabilities produce and record an album. It was exciting to be able to discover an industry where I can share my passions for music and sports with young people, and do some mentoring along the way”. Chris left the construction industry and started working for an NDIS service provider.

Chris quickly identified a lack of challenging activities or educational programs that taught NDIS participants any valuable skills both at the provider he worked for, as well as the youth disability support industry as a whole. This was the final motivation Chris needed to study the relevant qualifications in the disability sector, and go on to launch BEST Disability Support.

“It was important to me that BEST was simply better than any of the other alternative day centres, so I invested heavily in program design and experienced staff in an effort to specialise in the youth disability support sector”. Chris ensured the facilities at BEST provided the resources needed for disabled youth to take part in activities that they will truly enjoy, including a professional recording studio, indoor sports facility, and an educational VR gaming hub.

Since BEST’s initial launch in 2020, Chris has continued to successfully grow the business, enriching the lives of its members. Having called Logan home for over 20 years, Chris Stan has become a recognisable figure of the community, fostering relationships both locally and nationally to ensure BEST Disability Support offers unmatched services.
